I am writing to discuss several recent encounters I have had with the waste management team in my area.

I regret to inform you that I have received less than satisfactory service from the trash pick-up crew that comes on Wednesday mornings.

Every Tuesday evening I set my trash cans out hoping that my trash will be put into the truck and taken away.  However, when I return home on Wednesday afternoons, I find my trash cans laying on the ground, often blocking my driveway, and several pieces of trash remain in the can as well as on the ground.

Because the waste crew picks up trash with a mechanical arm and does not even need to get out of the truck to do its job, I feel that the employees could at least take the time to make sure all trash is disposed of and the cans are put back the way they were left.

The fact that a trash pick-up crew leaves trash behind is unsatisfactory.

All I request in this letter is that if I take the time to put all of my trash in the trash cans and roll them up to the street, the pick-up crew dispose of that trash and leave the cans the way they found them upon arrival.

By taking pride in their work and spending a few extra seconds to do a complete job, the streets and neighborhoods of Nashville will look better and citizens like me will be more apt to help keep our community clean as well.

Sincerely,
Evyn Mustoe, edm2p@mtsu.edu
